At Shreekala we have been nurturing the art of Indian dancing for over a decade. We offer lessons in Bharatnatyam Dance and Indian folk dances. We have worked extensively to introduce and indulge in the art of Indian dancing. Please look in to our programs to know more and register to our lessons. India's classical dances are a window into the rich traditions of it's ancient Indian culture. Exuberant and colorful, they are pleasing to the soul. Guru Vidushi Krutika Hireamath Pillay is a multifaceted artist with all-round excellence in the field of traditional Indian Classical Dances. She has been teaching Indian dance forms for over a decade and has received wide acclaim for her deep commitment to the advancement of fine arts and her artistic excellence. Krutika has evolved into an impeccable dancer under the tutelage of Guru Vidushi Smt. Sirshikar, a disciple of Guru Prerna Desai from Kalakshetra, and continued intense training under the guidance of Guru Vidushi Sundari Iyer Sheshadri. She also had the opportunity to learn Kuchipudi under the tutelage of Pandit Krishna Swami and Dr. Korada Narshinha Rao.

Being conferred with the title of 'Nritya Visharada' and honored with the prestigious Tambrapatra from Bhartiya Nritya Sansthan, Krutika's academic credentials extend to a Masters Degree in Business Management.

She has choreographed and performed extensively in India and in United States. She has been invited to be a guest and judge various dance programs in India.Krutika is dedicated to imparting a holistic experience of Indian dancing to her students, expressing gratitude for their companionship in the journey of expanding the boundaries of this art form. She seamlessly blends creative choreography with a discerning selection of music, all while preserving the essence of core techniques.

Her contributions have been recognized with numerous state and national level awards, underscoring her proficiency in dance and her nurturing of Indian art. Actively engaged in teaching and choreographing, she enriches the cultural fabric of Indian associations in Maryland, Florida, Colorado, and Virginia.

Guru Vudushi Smt.Sundari Shehshadri was a Baharatnatyam dancer trained in a Pandanallur Chokkalingam Pillai style. Sundari Ji was a great artist and even wonderful teacher. Several Bharatanatyam students trained under the tutelage of Smt Shehshadri are successful dancers and great teachers. She has left behind a strong legacy for her disciples to imbibe.
